I served with two elders that actively spied on potential wrong doers. They really sucked at being elders, but they liked carrying a big stick.

I going to picket my parents convention this weekend!
by Atilla inok, my parents have pissed me off so much with their denial and their refusal to even acknowledge my complaints against the borg.
they pretend everything is perfect at the kingdom hall and expect me to play nice to their dub friends so as to protect their own reputation.
this weekend in philadelphia, they are going to to their little convention and i have some evil thoughts.

A QUESTION FOR (EX) ELDERS
by new light indid you take it easy, judicially speaking, on those with congregation responsiblities?
were you extremely slow to remove anyone because no one wanted the additional work caused by a servant's absence?
i know of some pretty crappy, ok, really crappy and unscriptural things done by ms's and elders that definitely called for removal, but the elders quickly swept it under the rug.

The elders I served with had the motto: You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. The most notable exp. I had was an elders wife would get drunk quite often, once publically at a wedding. The P.O. and this elder were very good friends, so this was basically ignored, even though I brought it up. The P.O would say we just can't be short another elder.

Do speakers from bethel pack their lunch at bethel before they go as guest speakers to the conventions? What if they have to fly? Do they board with cans of tuna fish, bread, cans of soda, fruit, etc...?
